Cape Town, South Africa is located at the southern most tip of the continent and derives its name from its location on the Cape of Good Hope. Often referred to as the "Mother City" of Africa, it is the largest on the continent. This city has so much to offer the traveler from beaches to city life but a passport is a necessary requirement for travel. If you have a problem getting your passport, emergency passport services are ready to help you and accessible from your own home computer.

The weather of Cape Town is influenced by its location on the Cape of Good Hope making it very important that you carefully plan your travel dates. Spring occurs during the months of October and November but April and May are also very pleasant and travel during these later months can offer great savings with accommodations and dining. The peak summer or hot season is December thru March so you might want to avoid this time of year unless you are primarily going to Cape Town for the water sports it provides.

A visit to Bo-Kaap will introduce you to some beautiful and colorful homes situated along picturesque streets. You will also find street vendors selling food and will most certainly see a number of mosques. While this is certainly a beautiful area to explore, don't miss the popular Victoria and Alfred areas along the water, known for the seal population as well as fine dining and shopping.

A fabulous bird's-eye view of the city like no where else can be experienced by taking the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway to the top of Table Mountain. You will not want to miss the vistas this experience will provide by simply riding the cable car and taking a short walk to the look-out point.

No trip to Africa would ever be complete without seeing some wildlife and you will have plenty of opportunities to do just this during your visit to Cape Town. Many wild animals including baboons and zebras inhabit the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. There are also beautiful beaches located here and the sea life you can sometimes see from the shore is incredible. The Two Oceans Aquarium provides sea life in captivity but a scuba diving experience will bring you up close and personal with rays, turtles and sharks. Table Mountain National Park and the Koeberg Nuclear Power Station and Nature Reserve are also places of interest.

You have to have a passport to travel to Cape Town so don't just check the weather report for the area. Locate your passport and if you need a stolen or mutilated passport replacement, access an online passport company and you can get your replacement quickly and efficiently.
