The Legacy Of Skagen Watches: A Striking Love Story
By 2chic2beat
You might wonder as to how Skagen men's watches came to life. It happened way back in the year
1986. Henrik Jorst and Charlotte Kjolbye were introduced at a corporate
party and wound up falling in love. You could say that it was love at
first sight. Shortly after, Carlsberg, Henrik's then employers
transferred him to New York to manage their North American marketing
operation. Before long, Charlotte hooked up with Henrik in New York.
Both got drawn back to each other during the subsequent year.
A friend of Henrik's from Denmark sent him some samples of his company
gift watches, asking if there was a conceivable market for them in the
United States. Using the samples as a starting point, they added their
own fashionable touches, creating a very stylish end product.
Surprisingly to them, corporate buyers were in love with their designs,
and suggested that they make a brand name for themselves instead of only
supplying to corporations.
Both Jorst and Kjolbye managed to come up with eight hundred watches in 4
unique designs under the handle Skagen Denmark. The couple founded
Skagen as a result of an unfathomable passion for design. They also have
a strong belief that they knew what people wanted. The initial batch of
Skagen watches were sold out. They also had another cargo shipped right
after. As for the next year, Henrik and Charlotte designed thirty new
models. There was a buyer who took a chance and placed the Skagen
watches on the back of the special Father's Day edition.
Further down the line in the year 1995, Bloomingdales adopted Skagen watches on a trial basis. By the end of that day, every single watch had
been sold. Skagen men's watch was also featured in Inc. magazines as one of the 250 fastest
growing private corporations in the Unites States. Over five years,
there had been a 1200 percent increase in turnover, and a new office was
opened in Denmark to distribute the watches. 80 new stores were opened
in Denmark alone, and in 1995, Skagen watches were being distributed to
the United Kingdom.
Skagen Denmark already had almost 100 employees in their business, and
it only continued to grow. In 2000, Germany and the Netherlands were
also selling Skagen watches. Revolutionizing the watch industry, Skagen
had grown into a monstrous corporate entity with 160 employees, 60
international markets, 250 unique watch designs, and over 5000 stores
worldwide.
The Skagen Denmark corporation is unlike any other watch manufacturer.
By forever changing the watch market for the better, the company has
remained ever loyal to the original founders' first ideas. Stylish and
undeniably chic, these Skagen
watches are the definition of classy and never look obnoxious
or grating. Skagen's reputation for watches that are clean, sleek, and
stylish is vitally important to them, and nothing else can compare to
the elegant and sophisticated look of a Skagen men's wrist
watches. Chrome mesh bands, vibrantly pretty colors, classic looks,
and unique styles create a product that is the epitome of the watch
industry.
